Garth is an Ambassador for the Ponting Foundation, an organisation that raises funds to help young Australians and their families beat cancer.

Founded by Rianna and Ricky Ponting, the Ponting Foundation supports programs across Australia including:

Redkite’s Exceptional Needs Assistance program – a hands-on program that provides immediate relief to families in need. This includes cash grants for families requiring urgent financial assistance due to the illness of their child; and

- Fight Cancer Foundation – enabling the Fight Cancer Foundation to establish an accommodation fund to provide seriously ill patients from regional Tasmanian with low or no-cost accommodation when visiting Hobart to receive outpatient medical treatment.

- The Tasmanian health system– addressing issue unique to families and health professionals in a smaller state, including additional training and essential equipment and resources at treating hospitals.

- Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne - funding to assist the Head of Molecular Diagnostics to study changes in the genes of cancer cells, and how those changes can be used in the diagnosis of cancer and the selection of appropriate treatments.

Garth supports the Ponting Foundation by attending events, assisting with fundraising and spreading awareness.

Garth is also a long-time Ambassador of the Leukaemia Foundation – an organisation that helps to increase awareness of leukaemia, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

Holden has been a proud supporter of the Leukaemia Foundation since 2003 and provides the Foundation with 12 vehicles around Australia that are used to transport more than 5,000 patients and their families to and from their treatments.  As an Ambassador of the Leukaemia Foundation Garth volunteers his time to assist with patient transfers.

The Leukaemia Foundation provides free support services for patients and families including accommodation near hospital, transport to and from treatment, information, education and financial assistance while funding cutting-edge research into better treatments and cures.
